Who doesn't want a clean head of gorgeous hair and flawless complexion? I know I do.

Using some shampoos and conditioner will or may contribute to break outs, by clogging the pores. Or making oily hair even oiler.

I have thick hair and it is fairly oily. I can't get away without washing my hair everyday, it is just too oily. I also go to the gym everyday so it gets sweaty (eww) I have tried to use dry shampoo from several companies and nothing seems to keep my oily roots at bay, and my scalp broke out in crazy hives depending on the brand of dry shampoo ; ( So when I heard about Kairo I had to give it a shot.

My interest in this hair care line grew as I was reading the ingredients in it. First and foremost can I say this line is non-comedogenic (doesn't clog pores)!! I have never in all my life read a shampoo or conditioner that had that label! Amazing! Plus, instead of having useless bad oils, they have replaced them with essential oils such as Tea Tree, Lavender Oil, Sweet Almond Oil and the star of the show, Salicylic Acid. Smells good too!

My hair stayed shiny, weight less and volumized (especially at the roots) It didn't completely eliminate my frizz, but it tamed some of my frizz. I washed my hair every other day this week. I had a few breakout on my face already and I did see that it helped them heal faster.

I was browsing through Barnes and Noble one night and came across this lil gem, "Return to Beauty" by Narine Nikogosian is filled with endless recipes for all different kinds of face masks, body scrubs, cleansers and creams! and thats just the tip of the ice berg.

Few reasons why I had to absolutely own this book:

Just about everything can be made in 10 minutes or less
Most of the ingredients needed can be found in your kitchen
If you cant afford the fancy schmancy scrubs in store, you can easily MAKE YOUR OWN at an affordable price

Narine even includes specific recipes based on astrological signs. Now how cool is that?!?!

"Absinthe Makes" is a smokey dark grey with green and iridescent glitter. My girl Gina was painting her nails this color the other day, and claimed, "to be wearing the same color for the past week and a 1/2" because she dug this shade so much!

I have never been one to take baths at all, but I came across this Sake Bath made by Fresh, and when I found out it was composed with over %50 or pure sake, I had to give it a try!

I ran a warm bath and added 1/2 a cup of this amber liquid, and the second I immersed myself in the water, I knew this was one of the things that make you go mmmmmm..

I sat in the bath for about 1/2 an hour and felt all different sensations. First, I felt this warmth, almost sweating like - but don't be alarmed, its only the real Sake taking effect and extracting toxins from the body. Crazy right?!

Well it doesn't stop there, the fragrance of this bath oil is so delicious, literally making you feel like your in Japan waiting for a geisha girl to come and serve you tea - and I can't forget to mention how soothed my muscles felt especially my legs and feet ( awesome for anyone who works retail and stands on marble floors for 8 hours of the day, i.e. ME!)

When I got out the bath, my skin was sooo soft, silky, and hydrated.

End result. AWESOME!!!!

Have you ever had an eyeshadow that you absolutely love and you just can't seem to find that exact color in a liner?! Well here is a quick tip that will easily and quickly let you turn your favorite shadows into liquid liners.

Step 1: Add a few eye drops (Visine) to a eye shadow. (The reason we're using Visine is because the drops are mess free and sterile, which won't contaminate your shadow with bacteria)

Step 2: Once you have a nice and smooth consistency, dab an eyeliner brush ( Smashbox #21) in the shadow and eye drop mixture and line the eyes!

I was browsing the cosmetics aisle in Harmon's when I came across this new liquid lipstick by Revlon.

The advertisements promised long lasting color even after meals, so I had to put it to the test!

The color I purchased was "#1 Nude" which was the perfect shade for everyday use.

I applied the product on at approximately 9 am and didn't have to do any touch ups at all!

When I applied it, I loved the fact that it was very shiny like a gloss, but once it was on, it had the staying power of a matte lipstick. It was not sticky or goopy like other lip glosses that offered the same shine. The color was rich and surprisingly it kept my lips hydrated as well.

When lunch time rolled around, thats when the real test came into play, and sure enough this liquid lipstick kept up with its promises and did stay on, although the shine did fade.

The only time that I needed to touch it up was after lunch, and not because the color had diminished, but I wanted the shine back.

All in all, I think this long lasting lipstick is perfect for the woman that wants to stay looking her best, but doesn't have the time for frequent touch ups.

OK, first off, I will try anything that has the word "Abundance" in it.. Love that word!

So this was my experience with this hair cream:

It literally went from being a powder in the bottle to a liquid in my hair - pretty cool!
I used it when my hair was a bit oily and ready for a wash, and it literally sucked any excess oil up and made my hair go from flat to full - also pretty cool!

So I spoke to the girl at Aveda and she gave me the 411 on this hair potion:

"It instantly thickens hair by 17%"
Gives you that second day after a wash awesome hair look!

Overall, I have really oily / long hair and after using this product I was able to not wash my hair for an extra day (not gross especially when it takes you a while to blow dry your hair), and it mattified the really shiny roots that I had. I was also able to style it easier.

This is a guide to finding a perfect mascara for you!

Mascara usually comes in two basic forms - waterproof and water-soluble, and then branches off into other categories such as curling, lengthening, they even now come with little fibers to make them look ultra long! But for now, lets just stick to the two basics as mentioned above.

Waterproof Mascara- Does not dissolve in water, great for people that swim, sweat and want long lasting results. As great as it sounds, waterproof mascara does have some downfalls. Removing a waterproof mascara can be a real pain and leave you with raccoon eyes ( Black smudges around the eye) the wiping action may pull and break delicate lashes and may also drag the skin around the eye which ultimately causes wrinkles. A makeup remover can be used to remove heavy duty eye makeup, but can leave an oily residue around the eye.

Water Soluble Mascara- Easy and hassle free to remove, less chemicals than waterproof mascara, but does not last as long as waterproof mascara and it definitely will not last during a swim race or your best friend's wedding.

Mascara Tips

If you wear contact lenses or have sensitive eyes, opt for a mascara that says "Ophthalmologist Tested" basically what that means is that it has been tested by an eye doctor and is OK to use close to and around the eye.
Never keep an opened mascara for more than three months. The reason being, is that mascara wands accumulate bacteria just like everything else, and you don't want to keep reapplying bacteria over and over again to your eyes. GROSS!
Never add water to mascara! It may seem like your making it last longer, but your only contaminating it even more!

i know that it is a hefty price tag. but, if you really want to splurge and treat your lips this is an amazing product. this really does it all! it will repair, firm, exfoliate and deeply hydrate your lips while reviving your natural lip color.

those that wear lots of lipstick know that overtime, your lips will start to look a bit pale.

i use this product night and day and i've found that i don't have to apply chapstick/lip balms throughout the day because this makes your lips THAT soft and kissable. not only will you appreciate but your significant other because they won't end up with sticky lips.

an alternative for less than $5:
(a quick tip & trick used by many models)

good ol' vaseline. slather a good amount on your lips before going to bed at night and in the morning using a soft toothbrush, manually exfoliate the dead skin off your lips. using a toothbrush on the lips will help temporarily bring blood flow and circulation leaving your lips a bit rosy. last, put on your favorite lip gloss/balm of your choice.

I came across this interesting nail polish when I was browsing at Ulta.

Created by Sula, a Canadian based fragrance line, these nail polishes are water based - vibrant hues - that DO NOT need nail polish remover! I wasn't sure how I really feel about these polishes.

The info that I can offer is that although they are water based, they add a great intensity of color, but since it is water based the color really isn't too long lasting. It does peel off in nice and neat strips.

Overall, I think its a fun polish but I personally prefer a longer lasting polish.

i won't go into explaining what a facechart is because i know everyone that is reading this blog right now has been to the mac counter. it was one of my favorite things to do besides a makeover to make the day go by. it's was also one of my bigger responsibilities at the counter since i was the facechart specialist. my job was basically to make sure that our facechart book looked fabulous @ all times. also to give my fellow girls guidance, tips & tricks when needed.

here are some samples of my work.

one of my accomplishments @ work. this was chosen to go into a MAC prom lookbook-
which is a compilation of the best facecharts from different counters in my region.

i tried to really focus on making each and every single one different. i was told a while back that the artist tends to create facecharts that'll resemble them in some way or another. i've noticed & have been told in mine that it was the brows. the overall shape is very similar to my own. other than 2 of the lip looks, i've had all of the looks on my own face at one time displayed here in my facecharts. that is really the biggest thing i miss being at a mac counter. it was only there i could get away with having crazy, funky makeup looks on my face. makeup-wise, everyday was halloween! it really pushed the artistry aspect of it all.

so now it goes from my face to yours~

as we enter summer and start baring more skin, i cannot stress how important it is to protect yourself from the sun. although, may was the official month for skin cancer awareness, it is something we should constantly be aware of.

we all know and have been told time and time again the dangers of UV (ultra violet) rays but sadly, in most cases, vanity almost always trumps the warning signs of skin cancer.

Shadow Insurance

I have been working on an art exhibit, and was inspired by "Dia de los Muertos".

My cousin, Sheena and I, got together to accomplish this look and I didn't exactly have all the makeup needed for the look. Hence, the white cream!!!!

I had to think fast and use what I had, so I mixed together Too Faced Shadow Insurance with white eyeshadow and mixed it until the powder became a cream, and applied it with a foundation brush.

I was blown away by the results because it came out so creamy, and it stayed on!! Sheena could literally not take it off.

All in all, I personally think that Shadow Insurance is the best!!! I love the packaging because it comes in a tube so you can squeeze every last drop out of it, and I like that I can use it to keep powder shadow on, turn powder shadow into a cream, and use it to keep eyebrow pencil or powder on!

I am now freelancing for Fresh, and when I was being trained on the products, I was blown away when I learned about Fresh's Creme Ancienne.

It is a super rich age delay cream, that reduces the depth and length of wrinkles, increases the skin's elasticity and provides hours of hydration.

The recipe for this creme is literally the first form of written skin care that we know of, and dates all the way back to the second century.

The creme was invented by a Greek physician Claudius Galen, who back then was a sports doctor at the Roman school for gladiators. He would use a mixture of rose water, almond oil and beeswax and use as a balm for burns and wounds.

Now, 2000 years later, Fresh has re-re created the cream adding a few more ingredients such as :

-Meadowfoam seed oil which improves overall elasticity

I just came across this awesome time saving nail tip!!!!

If you want a french manicure in less than 60 seconds, take a white eyeliner pencil and run the pencil on the inside of your nail for a white and elegant look!

I tried this in the car on my way to work, and yes driving ( not advisable ) but, IT WORKS!

I just bought a cheap white eyeliner from Wet N' Wild and did it. Keeps you looking polished from the face even down to the nails!

Sweet Smells

The minute I saw these cute lil' fragrances I had to try them! And let me tell you, they smell so yummy!

Aside from the way they smell and look, I love them because they are all alcohol free, paraben free and there is no artificial coloring!

This is AWESOME! O.P.I. makes amazing colors as it is, and now they have created one for a good cause! Not to mention that it is a really pretty silvery/ airy bluish color ( Think of the VW Beetle in "Vapor")

Portion of the proceeds from this polish will go to the Lung Cancer Foundation of America!

Summer in the City

I was inspired by this look today because it finally feels like summer!! I used my cousin Sheena as my model and used bronzes and pinks for this look.

We filmed a video, its just in the process of being edited, so as soon as that is done you will definitely be seeing it posted up on here!

For Eyes:

Step 1:

Apply Too Faced Shadow Insurance all over lids. ( From lash line to brow bone, P.S. if you will are going to fill in the brows, you can also apply a little shadow insurance on the brows to keep powder / pencil on.)

Step 2:

Using Smashbox Eye Lights Trio in "Beam", apply the lightest color from lash line to brow bone.

Step 3:

Apply "Virgin Isle" Cream Color Base from MAC to the lid

Step 4:

Apply MAC "Posthaste" shadow over the "Virgin Isles" to add a brighter pop

Step 5:

Again, using the Smashbox Eye Lights Trio in "Beam", use the darkest color in the crease.

Blend well in circular motion

Step 6:

Line eyes with Smashbox Jet Set Waterproof liner in "Black"

Step 7:

Apply Too Faced Lash Injection Mascara in "Black"
